Shipping and Receiving Specialist

This position requires a self-motivated, highly organized and detail oriented individual responsible for the accurate, efficient and safe receipt and shipping of telecommunications equipment. Maintaining detailed physical and electronic records are critical to this position.  Additionally, excellent communication skills are needed to report that status of incoming and outgoing orders with various departments within Tri Tower.


  • Collaborates with the Operations Team to determine priority levels for receipt of all incoming equipment from purchase orders

  • Collaborates with the Operations Team to determine priority levels for shipment of all outgoing equipment for sales orders

  • Maintains electronic records of incoming and outgoing shipments

  • Organizes and prepares items for shipping, receiving, storage, and inventory in the warehouse

  • Reviews shipping labels, notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments and shipping methods required to verify accuracy and meet shipping and receiving schedules

  • Performs incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness and condition of shipments

  • Communicates equipment problems to the Executive Team, Flow Team, and Sales Team in a timely manner

  • Reviews records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures

  • Performs movement of shipments and stock to and from various staging areas

  • Posts weight and shipping charges, and accurately prepares bills of lading

  • Reports any discrepancies to appropriate Tri Tower team members

  • Maintains shipping, receiving and assigned staging areas in a clean, orderly and safe manner

  • Complies with company policies and procedures giving special attention to safety regulations

  • Transfers equipment manually, using a pallet jack, carts, rolling and step ladders as needed

  • Clean, repairs, refurbish and restores telecommunications equipment to the specifications set forth by leadership

  • Monitor supply of various packing materials and supplies needed to continue operations and completing orders

  • Ability to lift, carry, stack, wrap and move product exceeding 50 pounds on an ongoing basis safely and efficiently

  • Comfortable with heights


  • Experience in a Shipping/Receiving role is preferred but not required.  Including, but not limited to:

  • Safely packaging product in boxes or on pallets for transport

  • Using a foam machine

  • Use of binding and stretch-wrap

  • UPS (CampusShip, WorldShip, International)

  • FedEx (Standard, Overnight, International)

  • Arranging freight shipments

  • Obtaining shipping estimates

  • Use of label printers

  • Monitoring and maintenance of materials and supplies

  • Experience working in a warehouse is required

  • Experience working with an ERP (NetSuite or the like)

  • Experience working in the Telecom Industry is preferred
