This nomination recognizes Whitaker's outstanding leadership, innovation, and contributions to the Rochester business community.

Alex Whitaker co-founded Tri Tower Telecom in 2009 and has guided the company through significant growth and expansion. Under his leadership, Tri Tower Telecom has become a leading provider of telecommunications solutions, known for its commitment to integrity, quality, and reliability. Whitaker’s visionary approach has not only driven the company’s success but also positively impacted the local economy.

The Rochester Chamber of Commerce’s Business Person of the Year Award honors individuals who have demonstrated exceptional business acumen, leadership, and community involvement. Whitaker’s nomination is a testament to his dedication to both his company and the Rochester community. Alex's dedication to philanthropy is demonstrated by his receipt of the Multi-Generational Award from the Association of Fundraising Professionals Genesee Valley Chapter, his leadership roles with the Al Sigl Community of Agencies, his involvement with RIT’s Access Technology projects, and his participation in the City of Rochester’s Talented Tenth Program.
